Intel Reports $16.5 Billion in Third-Quarter Revenue and Forecasts Weaker Holiday Quarter

The chipmaker posted higher quarterly sales but projected $15 billion to $16 billion in fourth-quarter revenue amid weaker PC demand and manufacturing disruption.

Intel reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $16.5 billion on October 29, a 21% increase from the same period a year earlier, but issued a fourth-quarter outlook that reflected weaker personal-computer demand and disruption to manufacturing output.

The US semiconductor company reported diluted earnings attributable to Intel of $0.60 per share under generally accepted accounting principles, compared with $0.90 a year earlier. On its adjusted, non-GAAP basis, earnings were $0.52 per share, up from $0.23. The difference between reported and adjusted earnings is significant, and the two measures should not be treated as interchangeable.

Intel's Data Center and AI business recorded $7.3 billion in quarterly revenue, an increase of 78% year over year, as demand for server processors expanded. Its client-computing business, which supplies chips for personal computers, recorded $8.1 billion, down 5%. The company said the slowdown in the PC market could continue through at least the first half of 2027.

For the fourth quarter, Intel forecast revenue of $15 billion to $16 billion and adjusted earnings of $0.25 per share. Those figures are projections rather than completed sales or profit. The company also acknowledged a production interruption at its Kiryat Gat facility in Israel following an October industrial incident. Finance executives said the interruption could reduce revenue by about $300 million in the fourth quarter and have a comparable effect in the first quarter of 2027. This report concerns Intel's financial disclosure and does not independently assess the circumstances of the industrial incident.

Intel continues investing in manufacturing capacity and its foundry operations, while seeking to meet demand for data-center chips. Its results show stronger overall quarterly revenue alongside uncertainty over near-term PC sales and manufacturing supply. Future performance will depend on market demand, factory recovery and execution of planned investments.
