Ford Motor raised the lower end of its full-year adjusted operating profit forecast on October 28 after reporting third-quarter core earnings of $2.7 billion, slightly above the corresponding period last year.

The US automaker now expects 2026 adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of $10.5 billion to $11 billion, compared with its earlier range of $10 billion to $11 billion. The company maintained its annual adjusted free cash flow outlook of $6 billion to $7 billion. The updated guidance represents management's estimate for the full year rather than profit already earned.

Ford reported quarterly revenue of approximately $49.5 billion, down about 2% from the year-earlier period. Adjusted earnings per share were $0.49, compared with a cited analyst estimate of $0.41. Net income was approximately $2 billion, compared with $2.4 billion a year earlier. Adjusted operating earnings and net income use different definitions, so their amounts should not be directly compared as though they measure the same result.

The company said higher raw-material prices, fuel costs and production disruptions continued to affect its operations. It increased its estimate for full-year commodity-related costs to nearly $2.5 billion, up from approximately $2 billion previously, according to Reuters reporting carried by KTWB.

Ford's commercial vehicle business, Ford Pro, generated about $1.7 billion in adjusted operating earnings, while the electric-vehicle business, Model e, recorded an adjusted operating loss of about $1.1 billion. The conventional vehicle unit, Ford Blue, reported approximately $1.4 billion in adjusted operating earnings. The segment figures reflect differing markets and product costs.

Management pointed to forthcoming vehicles and energy-related initiatives as elements of its longer-term strategy. Those projects are not evidence that future profitability has been secured. Ford's reported quarterly performance and revised forecast remain subject to the assumptions and risk factors in its financial disclosures.
