US liquefied natural gas exporter Cheniere Energy raised its 2026 earnings guidance on 29 October after reporting higher revenue and net income for the third quarter. The Houston-based company now expects consolidated adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation, or EBITDA, of $8.75 billion to $9.25 billion for the full year, up from its previous $7.90 billion to $8.40 billion range.

Cheniere reported third-quarter revenue of $6.17 billion and net income attributable to the company of $1.17 billion. Reuters reported that net income rose from $1.05 billion a year earlier, while revenue from LNG increased to about $6.1 billion from $4.3 billion. The comparison points to stronger sales, but quarterly profitability can also be affected by accounting changes in the value of commodity derivatives.

The company reported consolidated adjusted EBITDA of approximately $1.90 billion for the quarter and distributable cash flow of about $1.23 billion. It increased its full-year distributable cash-flow guidance to $6.05 billion-$6.55 billion, from the previous range of $5.30 billion-$5.80 billion. These adjusted measures are not the same as net income under standard accounting rules.

Cheniere's board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.625 per common share, an increase of more than 12% from the previous quarter. The dividend is scheduled to be paid on 17 November to shareholders of record on 9 November. A declared future payment should not be counted as a distribution already made.

The company also reported completing the seventh and final train of its Corpus Christi Stage 3 project in August, increasing its capacity to produce and export LNG. Additional infrastructure is under development, although future output will depend on operating performance, approvals and market conditions.

The earnings announcement follows a period of strong global demand for US gas exports. Cheniere also disclosed agreements signed in October to supply QatarEnergy with up to four million tonnes of LNG annually beginning in the early 2030s, subject in part to investment decisions. Those future commitments are separate from cargoes delivered in the reported quarter.

The revised outlook reflects management's current assumptions rather than guaranteed earnings. Investors will be watching LNG prices, export volumes, costs and project execution to assess whether the higher forecast is achieved.
